EMAIL /
CALL US
Email is best to get started so you can share the following information:

  • Your name and spouse or partner's name if applicable.
  • Address, City, State
  • Phone Number where best to reach you
  • Description of the project: space you desire to transform, if it's a new house to be designed, spec house, etc.
  • When you are hoping to complete the project?
  • When you are available to set up a preliminary phone meeting. (For those who are married or with partners, both people are required to be on the call)

We will contact you to set up the preliminary phone interview.

PRELIMINARY PHONE INTERVIEW
The purpose of the call is to "meet" on the phone to find out if we are both interested in pursuing the possibility of working with one another.  I will ask numerous questions on the call to understand the scope of work for the project, the style you are seeking, if you have a timeline, what kind of investment level makes sense to you and how strict or flexible it is so I can respect the level and guide you appropriately, etc.  If you have any questions about our services I will be more than happy to answer them at this time.  It is best that you both read over this section of the website clearly and review my portfolio before this call.  At the end of this call we will set up an appointment for the Pre-Proposal Consultation.

PRE-PROPOSAL CONSULTATION

We will meet at the project location for one hour to walk through the space, review the details of the scope of work, and talk in greater detail about the services being requested.  It is during this meeting that I will have you sign the General Terms of Agreement in order to receive the quote for my services**.  I will then prepare the Statement of Work with quote for your project and email you the PDF within one week for your review.  If you are satisfied with the Statement of Work and would like to start the project, please contact us projectstart@susan-hopkins.com and we will schedule the first meeting.

MEETINGS:
The entire design process is completed within five meetings with our clients.  The final meeting is the design presentation where we bring boards with drawings, samples, fabrics, cut sheets, materials, paint samples, etc.

PURCHASING
Once the design is approved and deposit is received we take care of all of the purchasing, tracking, receiving, and delivery coordination, etc.  No hassles for you!

INSTALLATION
We will coordinate the installation of products and materials with the installers and contractors.

CONSTRUCTION
We will either work with our team of construction tradesmen, yours, or we can manage a bidding process for your project.

* Portal-to-portal is in reference to the round trip charge from studio to client project site to studio - all charged at the hourly rate.

** The Terms of Agreement are the same for every one of our clients and potential clients.  By signing the Terms of Agreement it doesn't contract you to use our services, it simply states that you agree to our terms for the current meeting and should you decide to hire us for your project.
