Susan A. Hopkins, ASID, CID
NJ Certificate Number 21ID00044900
NCIDQ Certificate No. 024105

Susan is a Certified Interior Designer and passed the *NCIDQ in April 2008.  Although these achievements are not required to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey where her clients reside, it has been a personal career goal for Susan to hold the highest level of professionalism to serve her clients best.  She is also a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers.

Her most recent achievement was being invited to take part in the Oxford Arts Alliance's Decorator's Showhouse in Chadds Ford, PA from May 11 - May 30, 2011.  Susan designed the Library space.  It was a gorgeous little gem of a space with beautiful views.  It was referred to as the "white" room and everyone who walked in immediately exhaled and expressed their comfort and serenity in the space.  It was certainly a success.  Photographs will soon be viewable in the Interiors: Residential portion of this website, on her blog, and on facebook.

Susan's desire to run a full service Interior Design company started when she was 16 years old.  This dream, after years of hard work and sacrifice came to fruition in 2006 when she took her part-time company full-time - ten years later.  She has enjoyed working with her clients who reside throughout the Philadelphia region on projects big and small.

How she got to this point: Susan's interest in art and design started when she was very young, quickly developing into a passion.  She followed this passion throughout high school in Fort Washington, PA by majoring in Art and Architecture and then graduating from Drexel University's ** CIDA accredited Interior Design Program which ranked top ten in the nation.  Throughout her final two years in college, she worked for a registered architect in Doylestown designing custom homes, 5,000sf plus, additions and interior renovations for existing homes all located within the vicinities of Buckingham Township, Doylestown, Solebury, and New Hope, PA.

After graduating, she was then the sole Interior Designer of luxury homes; vacation and primary, from 3,000sf to 11,000sf in Pennsylvania: Gladwyne, Bryn Mawr, Wayne, Villanova, St. Davids, Rittenhouse, Aspen, CO, and Miami, FL for a Designer on the Main Line.  Susan then worked extensively in the Commercial, Medical and Hospitality fields for a large Real Estate corporation and a Design-Build company all while taking on clients part time for the business she started on her own.

Of all the projects she designed and completed, her favorite project to date is an 11,000sf luxurious vacation home in Aspen, CO where she worked directly with an architect to create the footprint and floor plan.  This project included a custom designed Kitchen for the Client's chef, large Great Room, separate bedrooms for their twin daughters, with a luxurious Jack'n'Jill style Bathroom, a Master Suite with a spiral stair connecting to an Observation Deck on the roof, custom designed large format Laundry facility including four washers and dryers, and three Maid/Au Pair Suites, among many other spaces suitable for entertaining and guest stays.

Aside from the passion she has for Interior Design, she also has a true passion for being a wife and mother.  She and her husband Jeffrey were married in June 2007 and were blessed with a baby boy at the beginning of September 2009.
